FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chisasibi, Eeyou Istchee – February 2, 2026 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Chisasibi detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec found and seized a large amount of alcohol during a road and traffic operation on January 29, 2026. In one vehicle, officers seized:

10 boxes of 30 cans of Budweiser 355ml, 5% alc.
36 bottles of Vodka 750ml, 40% alc.
11 bottles of Vodka 1.14L, 40% alc.
The approximate street value of the seizure is of $4,500. We would like to remind community members and residents that EEPF works with local by-laws. Residents that do not respect their local by-laws will be fined by way of receiving a ticket or by way of summons to court.
