FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mistissini, Eeyou Istchee – June 28, 2026

Following an extensive drug trafficking investigation, members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Mistissini detachment along with the Sûreté du Québec’s Roberval detachment conducted a targeted operation that resulted in multiple arrests and seizure of narcotics.

On June 26, 2026, police officers, acting on information related to an ongoing investigation, located a suspect at a hotel in the Roberval area. Surveillance was established where officers monitored the movements of individuals associated with the investigation.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., police intervened as the suspects exited the location accompanied by other individuals. The operation was carried out safely and efficiently.

Three individuals, two males and one female, were arrested. One male was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant, while the other male was found in possession of a significant quantity of cocaine. Approximately 262.95 grams of cocaine, along with $2,350 CAD in cash and three cellular devices and items consistent with drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized.

Following the operation, the suspects were released on a Promise to Appear, and charges are expected to be laid by the Crown at a later date. As the suspects have yet to appear before a judge, names cannot be disclosed.

The Eeyou Eenou Police Force extends its sincere thanks to the Sûreté du Québec for their professionalism, cooperation, and vital assistance in bringing this operation to a successful conclusion.
