Mistissini, Eeyou Istchee – June 23, 2026 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Mistissini detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec executed three search warrants on June 18, 2026, that were granted by the Justice of the Peace.

The warrants were carried out at a single dwelling and involved the search of two vehicles. As a result of the searches, officers seized 125.6 grams of white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine along with drug paraphernalia and $2,345.00 in Canadian currency. The estimated street value of this seizure is approximately $17,563.

Following the six-month investigation and based on evidence gathered during the execution of the search warrants, one female suspect was arrested and is facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. At the time of this publication the suspect has not yet appeared before a judge. Therefore, their name cannot be released.
