Mistissini, Eeyou Istchee – June 3, 2026

The Eeyou Eenou Police Force’s (EEPF) Mistissini detachment is requesting the public’s assistance in relation to several firearm-related incidents within the community.

In the early morning of June 3rd at approximately 2:30 a.m., EEPF received reports of 3 to 4 gunshots discharged in the area of Pine, Amisk and Spruce street in the community. Officers immediately responded and continue to actively search for a suspect. At this time, no arrests have been made and no injuries have been reported.

This incident is part of a concerning pattern. Over the past two weeks, EEPF has responded to approximately five separate calls involving the discharge of firearms within the community.

We are requesting anyone who may have witnessed these events, heard suspicious activity or who has any information that could help investigators to come forward. Even small details may be critical in helping to ensure the safety of our community.
