FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waswanipi, Qc – October 20, 2025 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Waswanipi detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec executed a search warrant on a vehicle during the night of October 17, 2025, authorized by a Justice of the Peace.

The interception of a vehicle with suspicious behavior during a planned road safety operation led officers to the discovery of evidence related to illicit drug trafficking. The accused remains in custody and has been transferred to the Amos Detention Center pending his next court appearance. The approximate street value of this seizure is $25,000.
