FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chisasibi, Qc – May 19, 2025 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Chisasibi detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec executed search warrants at residential addresses and a vehicle in Chisasibi, on the morning of May 18, 2025.

The search warrants were obtained as a result of drug trafficking activities at two local addresses and a vehicle. When police officers entered the home, they located and arrested three individuals. Two female and one male were arrested in this operation.

The male individual was arrested for Obstructing Police in the execution of their duties.

Following the search of the homes, police located and seized a large quantity of suspected cocaine and cash consistent with drug trafficking.

The male individual and one of the two female suspects were released from police custody and proceeded by way of summons with a future court date.

The third suspect, Arielle NIMBONA of Gatineau, Qc appeared before the judge on May 19, 2025 and is facing charges of:
– Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

Eeyou Eenou Police Force recovered in total amount: 235 grams of white powdery substance, 1.24 grams of green leafy substance and $11,240.00 in Canadian currency. The estimated street value of the drugs seized totals approximately $67,500 CAD.
