FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chisasibi, Qc – April 8, 2025 – On Saturday April 5th, members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Chisasibi detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec intervened in two separate events that led to two alcohol seizures.

Officers responded to call outside a residence and noticed a parked vehicle in the driveway with a large quantity of alcohol inside. A search warrant was obtained and the alcohol was seized by the police. The individual will be facing charges under the Cree Nation of Chisasibi By-Laws.

The second incident involved a vehicle interception where the driver’s license was sanctioned under the Highway Safety Code and the vehicle was seized. Upon further inspection, there was a significant quantity of alcohol inside the vehicle. The individual will be facing fines under the Highway Safety Code for driving a motor vehicle while being sanctioned and will also be facing charges under the Cree Nation of Chisasibi By-
Laws.

The approximate total street value of the alcohol seized is over $6000.00.
