Waswanipi, Qc – October 8, 2025 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Waswanipi detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec executed a search warrant in the early morning of October 7, 2025, authorized by a Justice of the Peace.

The coordinated search of a local residence led to the discovery of significant evidence related to illicit drug trafficking. Among the items seized were over three ounces of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, more than 1,700 pills suspected to be methamphetamines, a quantity of cash linked to drug-related activity and various drug paraphernalia. The approximate street value of this seizure is of $20,000.

Four individuals were arrested at the scene. Bella-Jamie OTTEREYES (31), Sidney OTTEREYES (34), John Arlo SHARL (24), and Cole TRAPPER-SAGANASH (20) have been formally charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused remain in custody and have been transferred to the Amos Detention Centre pending their next court appearance.
