FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Waskaganish, Eeyou Istchee – February 5, 2026 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force (EEPF) of the Waskaganish detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) responded to an incident at a residence on February 4, 2026, that resulted in the arrest of two individuals.

Based on their assessment, officers determined that it was necessary to conduct a thorough investigation of the residence and a Justice of the Peace authorized a search warrant upon review of the case.

During the search, officers seized a total of 4,262 pills believed to be methamphetamines with a total estimated street value of more than $30,000.

Two female suspects are facing charges of Trafficking In Substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Both were released with a Promise to Appear at a later court date.

This action is part of an ongoing investigation into potential illegal activities associated with the residence, and EEPF would like to thank the public for their assistance.
