FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mistissini, Qc – November 25, 2025 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Mistissini detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec responded to a call received on November 22, 2025 regarding an intoxicated and aggressive individual at an address.
While resisting arrest, the suspect exposed in plain view a large amount of illegal substances suspected to be cannabis and hashish. The suspect was also in breach of a release order.
A total amount of 286.4 grams of green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis; 68.2 grams of a brown substance suspected to be hashish and drug paraphernalia related to drug trafficking were seized.
Shawn Rabbitskin (39) is facing charges of failure to comply with an order under the Criminal Code of Canada; trafficking in substance, and possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He appeared before the judge the same day and was transferred to the Amos Detention Centre.
