FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mistissini, Qc – October 7, 2025, – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Mistissini detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec responded to a call received on October 4, 2025. Following that intervention, two search warrants were executed the same day at a residential address and a vehicle.

Following the search, officers located and seized the following:

a loaded prohibited 9mm handgun
ammunitions
30 grams of crack/cocaine
drug paraphernalia
$620 in Canadian currency
3 unrestricted long rifles, which one was loaded.
The total value of the seizure is estimated at 5000$.

One male was arrested in this operation and appeared in front of the judge by phone appearance. He was later transferred and kept in custody at the Amos Detention Center.

Philip A. Neeposh (33) was arrested and is facing charges for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of prohibited ammunition knowing that he is not the holder of licence under which he may possess it, carrying ammunition in a careless manner or without reasonable precautions and storage of firearms in a careless manner or without reasonable precautions.

We would like to remind everyone that illegal possession and improper storage of firearms and ammunition are offences by law under Canada’s Criminal Code.
