FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nemaska, Qc – July 3rd 2025 – Members of Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Nemaska detachment received a call of assistance for a person in need of medical attention outside Nemaska’s community clinic at 2:52 a.m. on July 3, 2025.

Our officers arrived at the scene where first responders were performing CPR to resuscitate a wounded teenager. The victim (17) was pronounced deceased by the clinic’s medical staff.

EEPF has set a perimeter of the crime scene and notified the Sûreté du Québec’s Major Crimes Unit that will send their team to investigate the events.

Eeyou Eenou Police Force are requesting the public’s assistance. For anyone with information that can help this investigation and would like to come forward, a command post has been set up at the Nemaska courthouse.

We would like to express our deepest, sincere condolences to the families and friends impacted by this tragic event. Our thoughts and prayers are with the community.
