FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Mistissini, Qc – November 4th, 2025 – Members of the Eeyou Eenou Police Force of the Mistissini detachment along with officers of the Sûreté du Québec responded to a call received on the evening of November 3rd, 2025 regarding a person in need of assistance on St-John street. When EEPF arrived at the scene, the person was found unresponsive, and officers immediately requested the assistance of first responders.

The victim (15) was transported to the local clinic and was later pronounced deceased.

EEPF set a perimeter of the crime scene and requested the Sûreté du Québec’s Major Crimes Unit for their assistance.

One suspect (24, F) was taken into custody and is facing charges under section 320.16 of Canada’s Criminal Code for failure to stop after an accident; accident resulting in bodily harm; and accident resulting in death.
